Hiske Bongaarts is a versatile actress who convinces in film, television, and theater with her sparkling presence and strong acting. She has appeared in, among others, De Slet van 6 VWO, Juf Braaksel en de Magische Ring, and This Is Gonna Be Great.

She knows how to immerse herself in her characters with complete dedication, craftsmanship, authenticity, and a healthy dose of humor.

Throughout her career as an actress, Hiske has brought many diverse characters to life. She played her first film role in the Dutch thriller-comedy Sneekweek by Martijn Heijne. This was followed by the post-war short film Scratched Blue Sky, which attracted international attention and was screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

In 2018, together with fellow actress Nastassia Firestone, Hiske produced the award-winning short film Viswijf at the 48HFP Amsterdam, in which she also played a lead role. The film won, among other awards, Best Film (jury and audience award) and Best Edit, and was selected for several international film festivals.

Later, roles followed in, among others, Juf Braaksel en de Magische ring (Aram van de Rest), Downward Facing Dogs (Karsten de Vreugd), De Mooiste Dag (Appie Boudellah), and the series Beter wordt het niet (This Is Gonna Be Great), in which she played an incredibly annoying American singer.

Additionally, Hiske starred in the feel-good series Een Grote Familie, in which she also appeared singing and playing the piano, in her native language: the Limburg dialect. In 2020, she appeared in Meisje van Plezier (RTL) and in 2021 in the NPO3 series De Slet van 6VWO. She also had guest roles in popular series such as Oogappels, Oei, ik groei, Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden, and Flikken Rotterdam.

In addition to film and television, Hiske can be seen worldwide in commercials for brands such as BMW, Alpro, Starbucks, Renault, Andrélon, ABN Amro, De Bijenkorf, Seat, Vodafone, and Emirates. Since 2019, she has also been the face of Bluebiz, the business loyalty program of KLM and Air France, in which she shines in fluent Dutch, English, and French.

Hiske graduated cum laude from the Music Theatre program at the Fontys School of Arts in Tilburg in 2010. After graduating, she deepened her professional knowledge through courses in the Stanislavski and Chubbuck techniques. Additionally, she took acting lessons with Monique van de Ven and Saskia Temmink, among others. This continuous development ensures that she always approaches her roles with depth, authenticity, and craftsmanship.

CHECK OUT MY

KIND WORDS

It was more than a privilege to work with the funny and smart Hiske. Even though my short film was a low—or rather, a no—budget film, Hiske gave it her all. In makeup, take after take, whether she was feeling comfortable in her own skin or not. She was there. She even turned down a lucrative gig when we rescheduled shooting days. A woman with a passion for her craft and her crew members, and besides a beautiful voice, an actress I hope to welcome back to set often.
